Josh Stephens of Hold It Down Tattoo in Richmond works in a variety of styles. From delicate coloring to lifelike insects, he does each inspired by nature. Despite his large fanbase and training, he doesn’t consider himself an artist. “I feel more like a technician than an artist,” he told Inked magazine. He also feels like nothing sets him apart from other tattooists. “There are so many great tattooers out there doing great tattoos in a similar vein as I am. I’m not doing anything new or different,” he laments. “My whole goal in tattooing is to just do good, solid, clean tattoos. I hope that I’m doing a good job at that.”
More and more men consider getting a spartan tattoo, not only because it can look really cool, but because it’s a tattoo that symbolizes strength, perseverance and discipline. When it comes to a spartan tattoo, you have more than one options: you can get a tattoo of a spartan warrior on your back or chest, or you can also get a spartan-like armor on your shoulders, which looks great. If you studied greek history or at least saw the movie called “300”, you know that spartans are really honorable people.
Half sleeves are usually just a pit stop on the road to getting a full sleeve. You miss the smell of the ink and vaseline and crave the feel of the needle creating a masterpiece on your skin. People often start with a half sleeve before they decide to complete it and finish the entire thing. They are sometimes viewed as incomplete until the rest of the arm is done. They are easier to cover and you don’t necessarily need a long sleeved shirt to cover them.

There is nothing like a great looking sleeve tattoo on a masculine arm to draw attention from all corners. Most well done sleeve tattoos for guys make them look more masculine and exude that charming effect especially on the women. Show off your sleeve tattoo in casual social gatherings by wearing a fitting t-shirt and you will attract all sorts of people, from the admirers and artistic souls to the openly envious ones. Work out regularly to keep the arm muscles firm and the sleeve tattoo will look appealing every day.
Deer have been revered as animals of beauty and grace, with their lithe movements attracting the human race to chase and catch them. At the same time, this charming animal is associated with some symbolic attributes too, like a female deer or doe is regarded as an epitome of motherly love, kindness and gentleness. On the other hand, a stag or male deer denotes fertility, virility and sexual prowess. In general sense, the deer tattoo relates with the symbolic meanings of nobility, peace, love and kindness. Some also regard it as a sign of rebirth and resurrection while others take it as an epitome of beauty.
It is funny to see how man people want copies of someone else’s tattoo, where is the originality in that? I think it is a good idea to look at designs to get a better idea of what you like and want, but a bit lame if you are only going to copy someone’s work. A tattoo should be a depiction of your own likes and ideas… Well that is only my 2c worth. Some great sleeves on here… Sitting at the shop at the moment while the artist is prepping for my shoulder piece. Have a great day tattoo lovers
Impressed? You should be. These tattoos are true works of art. Some of them clearly honor beloved family pets, while others feature familiar beasts of the wild. The one thing they all have in common though? They are tattoos and not photos of actual animals. If this doesn’t make you want to bolt out the door, run to the nearest tattoo parlor, and have a photorealistic kitten or sloth permanently inked upon your body, we don't know what will. But if you are still uncertain, check out Part One in our series of incredibly realistic animal tattoos. (Again, it is worth reiterating: All photos at that link are not real animals! It’s hard to believe, but it’s the truth!)
Warrior sleeve tattoo design symbolizes power and strength. The popular warrior full sleeve tattoos include pictures of warriors and deadly weapons, basically engaged in wars. Some other symbols are also a part of these tattoo designs such as- feathers, heart, skulls, compass, musical symbols, angels, clock, arrows and dream catchers. But, to match the right symbol according to your personality it’s important to discuss it with your tattoo artist before getting inked.
The usual design is comparable to a full-sleeved garment sold by many clothing companies. Why is it so? Well, it is simply because it covers the entire arm parts of the person most of the time. The tattoo design can possibly be a single design that extends from the shoulder up to the wrist part, or a group of smaller gorgeous designs that connect to one another until they reach the wrist part. This has caused the existence of half sleeve design, which only covers half of the person’s arms. These tattoos usually start from the shoulder up to the elbow. However, there are cases that the tattoo starts from the elbow up to the wrist part.
