Freehand tattoo artist Gakkin has been in the industry for nearly 20 years and developed a dark yet visually-intricate style during that time. In it, the Kyoto creative cloaks his client’s skin in large areas of black pigment. Here, the negative space is vital, as it illuminates his subject matter. This particular piece took him two days of inking, with a process that avoids stencil machines. Instead, he draws on the skin using a ballpoint pen. “There are infinite possibilities for my tattoos,” he explained to the BBC, “and working freehand means that my pieces will look beautiful on your body from any direction.”
When we take a closer look at the owl, we can better understand all the symbolism behind the animal. They are known for their large eyes and skillful hunting abilities. Their eyes are designed to see far in low light and they hunt quietly, barely making any noise at all when they fly, for they have evolved extra-soft plumage which gives them "acoustic stealth" and allows them to sneak up on their prey. Owls have a mysterious vibe, perhaps because they are nocturnal and rarely seen during the day. As most winged animals do, the owl symbolizes freedom, but they also represent vision, due to their ability to see so far at night.
Half sleeves are usually just a pit stop on the road to getting a full sleeve. You miss the smell of the ink and vaseline and crave the feel of the needle creating a masterpiece on your skin. People often start with a half sleeve before they decide to complete it and finish the entire thing. They are sometimes viewed as incomplete until the rest of the arm is done. They are easier to cover and you don’t necessarily need a long sleeved shirt to cover them.
Tattoos are beautiful representations and expressions of how we feel and it’s a great way to tell others through the imagery of art. That being said, like all art, tattoos are expensive. They take time and skill and if you want it to look good, it’ll definitely cost you. A single image is going to be a lot cheaper than a whole sleeve of art so as you contemplate whether or not you’d like to invest in a whole sleeve, make sure you allot space in your budget to make it happen. Typically you go into your shop several times in order to complete the sleeve so you may be able to work something out with your artist and do a payment plan if you plan in advance. Who knows, maybe they’ll give you a discount since you’re committing to a whole sleeve. It never hurts to ask. Once you’ve researched how much you’ll have to invest, enjoy the process and get ready to be amazed by the finished results.

Even though we have proof a certain symbol means something in a certain culture – doesn’t mean that’s the end of the line. For example: If you want an owl tattoo, but maybe you’re hung up on learning the owl has some dark or negative meanings in certain cultures. Sleeve tattoos are one of the most popular tattoo designs in the world over, as they look both beautiful and prominent. Like the sleeve of a garment, they cover the area from the shoulder to the wrist, though some designs may be half sleeved or quarter sleeved. These designs combine a large number of smaller designs, which make creating them a difficult and time-consuming task, but the effort is truly worth the while.

And how much more legendary can we get than our own tattoos? In essence, our tattoos are our own myth, our own legend, our own lore, our own culture. You get the idea. Cultural views and myths are a timeline through human history. If we adopt symbols from these histories, we are affirming the plight and pleasure of being human. Content The sharpness that geometry clubs with the tattoo makes it a fun a bit more than usual art of inking bodies. Imagine a reindeer with geometric horns and face and body with bold lines drawn. Whoa! The thrill is doubled, isn’t it? Detailing with the traditional designs will make any tattoo appear extra-ordinary. Indeed, crafting any natural thing artificially giving it a geometric look is tough and time consuming but worth a try for sure. You are not going to regret for choosing this style and you have my word on that.
